Gadsden robbery victim chases robbers

A Gadsden man who was robbed at gun point Wednesday decided to fight back, chasing the robber around East Gadsden before breaking his box truck during the pursuit. Gadsden police say the robbery occurred just before noon Wednesday as the 38-year-old victim was mowing grass on Litchfield Avenue when a man approached him, put a gun to his head and demanded his money. The man complied, and the robber took his cell phone and got into a black Chevrolet Impala or Malibu driven by another man. The victim then hopped into his box truck and proceeded to chase the car, eventually ramming it at the intersection of Springfield Avenue and East Meighan Boulevard. He continued to pursue the Chevy on East Meighan but lost sight of it around Keeling Road and Florida Avenue. The victims truck sustained heavy damage to the front end, and he had to stop the pursuit because it eventually broke down. He said the black Chevrolet also has severe damage to the rear end from being rammed by the box truck.
