Gadsden woman arrested in Centre theft

Authorities say that Surveillance footage from a Cherokee County restaurant has lead to the arrest of a Gadsden woman. Authorities have charged Lisa Sturgis with third degree theft of property. Surveillance cameras inside Wise Guys Pizza in Centre recorded Sturgis walking away with a tip jar containing between $80 and $100. A Centre police officer viewed the surveillance video and was sitting in the parking lot of a convenience store going over leads when he spotted Sturgis driving by. The officer performed a traffic stop, arrested Sturgis and took her to the Cherokee County jail with a $300 bond.
