Gadsden police investigating robbery

Gadsden police say they are investigating the reported Wednesday morning robbery of a Gadsden man. Police say the 69-year-old man was robbed early Wednesday morning by five men. The robbery occurred between 12:39 a.m. and 12:45 a.m. Wednesday morning on Tennessee Avenue. The victim said he was walking home from his girlfriend’s house when a silver Chrysler 300 pulled up alongside him. He said five men jumped out and demanded his money. One of the men was armed with a shotgun. The victim said when he saw the gun, he did as he was told and threw his money on the ground. The men took the money and left. The incident was about a block away from a shooting which occurred minutes earlier.on Kentucky Avenue, in which 45-year-old Willie Brown was killed in front of his home. Although the two incidents happened about the same time and place, Gadsden Police say the incidents were unrelated.
