Man accused of assaulting roommate with baseball bat

A 44 year old Anniston man has been arrested after allegedly hitting his roommate multiple times in the back with an aluminum baseball bat. Oscar “Black” Woodard and his 40 year old roommate got into an argument at their house on East 13th Street early Wednesday morning. Investigators said that During the fight, Woodard picked up an aluminum bat and struck the victim multiple times in the back . When police arrived they found the victim lying on the sidewalk outside the house.

Woodard was found to have two outstanding warrants — one for failure to appear and another for contempt of court

Woodard was arrested and charged with felony second-degree domestic violence.
