Man arrested on sexual abuse

Calhoun County Deputies have charged a 29-year-old man with sexually abusing a woman in Alexandria. Deputies say The man spent Friday night at the home of his male friend’s house on Glenvale Drive in Alexandria. According to sheriff Larry Amerson The 22-year-old victim, who is the girlfriend of the suspect’s friend, told deputies that after her boyfriend left the house, she woke up to find the suspect touching her. Amerson said a deputy was at the home around the time the incident happened to serve a warrant for a traffic offense on the boyfriend. The deputy heard a female voice telling someone to stop and saw the suspect jump up and zip his pants. Amerson said the victim’s testimony paired with what the deputy witnessed was enough to charge the man with first-degree sexual abuse, a felony.

The man is in the Calhoun County Jail under a 15 thousand dollar bond
