Man arrested for passing forged checks

A Montgomery man has been arrested by Anniston police accused of cashing two fake checks at two local banks last year. 35 year old Jacob Carl Sievers, has been charged with two felony counts of second-degree possession of a forged instrument. Regions Bank corporate security reported on April 3, 2012 that two fake checks were cashed at two bank locations. Police say a check worth $1,600 was cashed at the Regions Bank on Wilmer Ave. The bank later determined the check had been forged. Another check was cashed at a Regions Bank in Oxford, According to court records Sievers was charged with possession of a forged instrument in February 2012 by Montgomery police.
