Piedmont man arrested after 15 meth labs found in his home

Calhoun county deputies and Piedmont police executed a search warrant Friday at a residence on Hughes Road. Inside that home officers found two active meth labs and 13 inactive labs. 52 year old Jimmy Ray Steed, was arrested and charged with first degree manufacture of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. When deputies executed a search warrant, they found Steed making meth at the home located between Jacksonville and Piedmont. Over the last few years, deputies said they learned that the house was a source of meth in the community.  Sheriff Larry Amerson said his department had received information about Steed several times, but they never had sufficient evidence to execute a warrant or arrest him.
