Etowah County Sheriff’s Office investigators cleared up at
least 20 home-invasion burglaries with the arrests of three suspects. In a
press conference monday, Sheriff Todd Entrekin said that the burglaries began around November 1st and continued through January 8th.
Investigator Shane Hartley says that the break in the case came when one
of the suspects dropped his cell phone while burglarizing a residence in Ball
Play. Arrested are Michael Shayne Green, Russell
Carl Sharp and Amanda Cate Holland – all of Gadsden. Each is charged with numerous counts of
first, second and third degree theft of property. Green and Sharp are also charged with one
count of arson for burning a home in Ball Play.
All three are currently being held in the Etowah County Detention
Center. Sheriff Entrekin says that the
investigation is still underway and that additional charges may be added.
