Search continues for possible drowning victim

St. Clair county authorities say they are continuing their search of Logan martin lake for a man who allegedly jumped from Stemley Bridge last Saturday morning while they are are also searching for possible new witnesses in the case.  St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department Investigator Cary Ward said authorities are searching for the driver of a vehicle who was allegedly traveling toward Pell City from Talladega County at the time of the incident. According to a witness, the oncoming driver possibly blinked his headlights while approaching the vehicle that 25 year old Tywone Caldwell, of Talladega County allegedly jumped from and into Logan Martin Lake.  Ward said the alleged incident happened at about 5:40 a.m. Saturday.  Emergency workers from six counties have searched Logan Martin Lake near the Stemley Bridge which joins St. Clair and Talladega counties on Alabama 34.  Ward said Caldwell is described as a 6 foot 1 inch black male. He was last seen wearing white pants, a white shirt and tennis shoes.  Ward said anyone with information about the incident or the victim should contact the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department at 205-884-6840.
