Adrian Stevens |
An Etowah County woman has been charged with chemical
endangerment of a child. Sheriff Todd Entrekin says Adrian Stevens admitted to
using drugs the day before giving birth to her baby. That baby died seven days later at a
Birmingham hospital. Doctors determined
the cause of death an intestinal disease. Stevens was arrested last week and
later released from the Etowah County Detention Center on a $25,000 property
bond. Her bond agreement requires her to
submit to regular drug testing through Community Corrections.
