Calhoun County deputies say they caught a pair of burglars
who were stuck in the mud. Sheriff Larry
Amerson says a Ford Explorer was spotted on a man's property on Joe Martin
Drive in Wellington. It later turned out to be filled with items stolen from a
mobile home that was being used for storage. One of the stolen items was a
water heater. The two suspects were
captured after they tried to drive away and got stuck in the mud. They jumped
out of the vehicle and started running through the woods.
Amerson said Initially the men didn't want to disclose their
names claiming, they didn't know each other, and didn't know how they got
there.
The suspects are charged with burglary and public
intoxication.
