Talladega Police are investigating a shooting Tuesday night
that injured a 9-year-old boy.
Investigators say the shooting took place at about 9 p.m. on Howard
Street. The victim was sitting in a car parked in the front yard of a
residence. Police say the child was struck in the leg by what appeared to be a
shot from a small caliber handgun. He was transported to the emergency room of
Citizens Baptist Medical Center to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
There was no one else inside the car with the victim, and no one else was hit.
Evidence was that more than one shot was fired. Investigators had found no
witnesses to the shooting, and there were no suspects. Police are asking Anyone with information to
