Sycamore man charged with burglary

The Talladega County Sheriff’s Department arrested a 30-year-old Sycamore man Wednesday on second-degree burglary charges. The charges against Eric Jauan Dandridge, stemmed from an incident that occurred Sunday night at a residence near Odena Heights Circle in Sylacauga where Dandridge’s ex-girlfriend lives. Dandridge gained entry to the residence by removing the air conditioning unit and climbing through the window. After Dandridge entered the home, he was involved in an altercation with the victim and a friend of the victim during which he assaulted the victim, who was able to flee to a neighbor’s residence and call 911. When deputies initially responded to the scene, they placed Dandridge under arrest for domestic violence charges and transported him to the Talladega County Jail. Dandridge bonded out of jail for the domestic violence charges, but further investigation revealed the unauthorized entry, resulting in the second arrest on burglary charges.
