Police investigate accident where unrestrained child was injured



Heflin   Haller was flown to UAB hospital in birming for possible head injuries in the wreck.  Police say that her 3 year old son had been unrestrained in the vehicle.  Police say the child has been released from the hospital and is in the custody of the department of human resources.  An officer went with Haller to UAB to collect blood and urine samples from the woman, and sent the evidence to the Department of Forensic Sciences lab in Hoover.  Police say it could take anywhere from two months to a year for police to get the results from Hoover.  Haller was driving a 1998 Ford Mustang when she rear-ended a Heflin Water Department truck near Ervin Circle. The city truck sustained minor damage police say Haller’s vehicle was “possibly totaled,” .The driver of the truck was not injured.
Police are investigating a Thursday morning crash that left a 3 year old in the hospital with head injuries. Police took blood and urine samples from the childs mother 26 year old Brandy Michelle Haller of Heflin.
