AHSAA to vote on adding new classification to high school sports



The AHSAA board members will vote today on a proposal that could add a seventh classification to the states high school sports. The "7A" class would potentially consist of the thirty-two or thirty-six biggest schools in the state. Using the 2012 numbers used the last time schools were reclassified, that would include Hoover, Vestavia Hills, Pelham, Oak Mountain, Spain Park, Tuscaloosa County, Gadsden City, Mountain Brook, Shades Valley, and Hewitt-Trussville.

The decision will be announced lalter today at the AHSAA office in Montgomery.
