Gadsden Councilmen named to National Committee

Two Gadsden City Councilmen have been appointed to key committees by the National League of Cities.   Deverick Williams and Robert Avery have been appointed to the National League of Cities’ Finance, Administration & Intergovernmental Relations Steering Committee for 2014.
Williams and Avery also were on the committee last year, with Avery serving as chairman.  The committee has the lead responsibility for developing the league’s federal policy positions on issues involving national economic policy, general financial assistance programs, liability insurance, intergovernmental relations, the Census, municipal bonds and capital finance, municipal management, antitrust issues, citizen participation and civil rights, labor relations, Native American sovereignty and municipal authority.
