Reward offered in Oneonta fire homocide



Authorities are offering a $10,000 reward for information regarding last weeks fire-related murder of an Oneonta man.   Blount County District Attorney Pamela Casey announced the reward Friday. 66 year old Donald Whited, died Jan. 13 in a fire at his home on Ebell Road. Following a preliminary investigation, the Alabama State Fire Marshal and members of the ATF ruled the fatal blaze as arson. An autopsy was performed Wednesday and Whited's death was ruled a homicide. Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to call Blount Co. Crime Stoppers at 205-274-2746. You will remain anonymous and will not be forced to testify in court.
