Burglary suspects apprehended when they got stuck in the mud making getaway



Calhoun County deputies say they caught a pair of burglars who were stuck in the mud.  Sheriff Larry Amerson says a Ford Explorer was spotted on a man's property on Joe Martin Drive in Wellington. It later turned out to be filled with items stolen from a mobile home that was being used for storage. One of the stolen items was a water heater.  The two suspects were captured after they tried to drive away and got stuck in the mud. They jumped out of the vehicle and started running through the woods.
Amerson said Initially the men didn't want to disclose their names claiming, they didn't know each other, and didn't know how they got there.
The suspects are charged with burglary and public intoxication.
