Suspect held in attempted robbery

St. Clair County District Court Judge Alan Furr ordered a man, who allegedly attempted to rob two women at Pell City’s Lakeside Park Tuesday, to remain in the St. Clair County Jail without bond.  Furr ordered that 29 year old Jerry Alan Hicks Jr., of Ashville remain in the St. Clair County Jail without bond after he was charged with two counts of first-degree robbery and second-degree kidnapping.  Furr denied Hicks bond after St. Clair County District Attorney Richard Minor told the judge that the defendant had three prior failures to appear in court charges, including one outstanding failure to appear charge stemming from a 2012 driving while suspended license case.
