Case against Anniston man who attempted to arrest Weaver mayor headed to grand jury

Bobby Beck

A Calhoun County judge Monday sent the case against an Anniston man, charged with carrying a pistol into Weaver City Hall with the goal of arresting the city’s mayor, to go before a grand jury.   59 year old Bobby Beck,  was arrested by Weaver police on June 10 at his home on Weatherbrook lane in Anniston, charged with impersonating a peace officer, making terrorist threat and carrying a pistol without a permit. Beck was released from jail on June 25 on a $2,500 bond.  Police say Beck’s arrest came after he walked into Weaver City Hall with a badge and a pistol and demanded to arrest Mayor Wayne Willis.  Calhoun County District Court Judge Chris McIntyre on Monday set Beck’s case to go before a grand jury in August.  Beck was assigned court-appointed defense attorney Christopher Albert Mondays hearing.
