
Etowah county officials say About 1,000 tons of construction debris and
15,000 tons of vegetation debris have been picked up from the roadside in the
tornado-ravaged community of Smith Institute. However, the last day to place
debris on the side of the roads in that community is this Friday.

ounty road department employees have picked
up debris since the tornado hit on the early morning of April 29, but most of
the clean-up is winding down.
