Gadsden hospital named among top in the state

Riverview Regional Medical Center

Gadsdens Riverview Regional Medical Center has been ranked among the top three hospitals in Alabama, according to the 2014-2015 U.S. News and World Report Best Hospital rankings.
Riverview tied with Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham as the second best-ranked hospital in the state, behind UAB Hospital.
The report recognized Riverview for performance near the level of nationally ranked U.S. News Best Hospitals in one adult specialty, nephrology, and for meeting standards for strong performance within Alabama.
The rankings, which are updated every July, are largely based on mortality rates, patient safety and other measures. A survey of physicians, used to determine which hospitals they consider the best in their specialty, also is included in rankings determinations.
