Christine Saunders |
DeKalb Sheriff's deputies and Fyffe
police officers arrested an intoxicated woman Saturday evening after she
allegedly rode a horse to a store at Hammonds Crossroads and tried to steal
items inside the store, according to Sheriff Jimmy Harris. Officers found a horse tied up outside the
store that they believe the woman was riding, and they found three cans of
Keystone Light beer in a Walmart bag tied to the saddle horn.
45 year old Christine Saunders, of Fyffe,
was arrested for public intoxication and illegal possession of a prohibited
beverage, and transported to the DeKalb County Detention Center. The store
owner is working with the sheriff's office to bring other charges.
The horse was returned to its owner,
who did not want to press charges, according to the sheriff.
