Holiday gas prices hit 6 year high

Expect to pay more for gasoline this Independence Day holiday period.
AAA reports gas prices nationwide will be at their highest in the past 6 years.
The reason?  AAA says it’s because Iraqi violence has increased global petroleum costs.  AAA reports today’s average price of gas is $3.68 per gallon across the USA, which is considerably more expensive than recent years for the holiday. In Alabama, the state average price for today is $3.42.That is 21 cents higher than this time last year.  The most expensive gas on average is in Birmingham and Mobile, at $3.45 and $3.46 respectively. The least expensive average price is in Montgomery at $3.37. AAA reports gas prices will likely remain expensive through July 2014, due to high crude oil costs and rising summertime demand.
