Anniston Mayor Vaughn Stewart is recovering in an Anniston hospital after
undergoing an an appendectomy. The mayor
went to Regional Medical Center Saturday after he experienced abdominal pain
Friday and Saturday. Family members said
that Doctors at the hospital were able to remove the mayor's appendix Sunday
before it ruptured.
