Albertville Boy rescued after 100 ft fall in western Etowah County



A 14 year old Albertville boy was rescued early this morning after falling from a rock ledge Wednesday  evening in western Etowah county    The incident occurred, on Buzzard Rock Road near Altoona when the boy was walking with a a group of people in a wooded area near a rock ledge. He slipped and fell approximately 100 feet down a steep embankment shortly after 8:00 pm on Wednesday night.  Multiple agencies worked together to reach the boy and bring him to safety.  Sheriff Todd Entrekin.  Said that Many residents in the area offered their assistance and provided ATV's for first responders to use  saying they are grateful for their help.  The boy was alert and speaking to public safety personnel when they reached him. After being lifted to the top of the rock ledge he was transported to a local hospital. His injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
