Gadsden police investigating armed robbery



Gadsden Police are investigating the Thursday night robbery of a local gas station.  According to police, an employee at the  Murphy’s Express on Gilbert’s Ferry Road reported that two men robbed the store. 
According to The employee the men came to the store about 10 p.m. Thursday night, one man entered the store and the other stood watch. The man who entered the store was wearing a blue, hooded sweatshirt and possibly a mask, and had a handgun. He told the clerk to give him the money in the register, then reached across the counter to take it from the register when she opened it.

The pair then fled across Gilberts Ferry Road to an apartment complex in Attalla. A witness at a nearby restaurant also saw the two men leave the store and run into the same apartment complex.
