Cherokee man killed in domestic dispute with neighbor

Officials in Cherokee County say that One man is dead after a domestic dispute turned violent between neighbors on County Road 45. Sheriff Jeff Shaver says deputies responded near 10:30 Tuesday morning to a report of a shooting and found the victim in the driveway in front of the residence. The deputies took a man into custody for questioning, who was in possession of the weapon suspected to be used in the incident. Investigators from the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, the Calhoun/Cleburne County Drug and Violent Crime Task Force, and the District Attorney’s Office are investigating the shooting. Names and further details are currently being withheld pending further investigation and notification of relatives.
