Etowah drivers llicense testing office may close or relocate

The Alabama Department of Public Safety driver’s license office in Glencoe could  be relocating to the old health department building adjacent to the Etowah County Courthouse. During a Tuesday work session, county commissioners discussed providing space for the driver’s license office should the Glencoe site close.  The department of public safety is considering possibly closing  the Glencoe office, where driver’s license and permit tests are given. moving the testing facility to the Jacksonville trooper post.  Driver’s licenses can be renewed at the Glencoe facility or at the probate office in the courthouse, but driving and permit tests are only given in Glencoe.
