Man charged with theft from Drug Rehab Program

Calhoun county sheriffs deputies have arrested a patient at an Ohatchee drug rehab center  after he allegedly stole money from the center last year.  48 year old William Booker, 48, was a patient at the Freedom Recovery drug rehabilitation center when the owner caught Booker stealing $1,000.  The owner told police that after he caught Booker, Booker promised he would repay the money.  When the owner didn’t hear from Booker, he told police about the theft and a warrant was obtained for Booker’s arrest in July 2012.  Booker was found in the Chambers County Jail Wednesday, after being arrested on another charge.   Booker was transferred to the Calhoun County Jail Wednesday on felony charges of second-degree theft, according to a police report. Booker has a bond set at $5,000 .
