Woman claims she and her son were struck by vehicle

Gadsden police are investigating  Sunday night incident in which a A 21-year-old woman alleges that she and her 1-year-old son were injured after being struck by a vehicle.  According to Captain Bobby Jackson, The woman said she was arguing with a 19-year-old woman about a man on White Avenue when the woman said the teen drove her vehicle onto the sidewalk, striking her in the back and running over her foot before driving further and hitting her 1-year-old child, then leaving the scene.  The 19-year-old woman provided a different story to police.   She claimed she was attacked by several people and was trying to leave the scene. She said she wasn’t aware she hit anyone with her vehicle.  The child was taken to Children’s Hospital in Birmingham as a precaution. The involved parties have been located and questioned by detectives. The investigation is ongoing.
