Anniston police investigating possible homocide

Anniston police are investigating the Monday death of an Anniston man as a possible homicide.  Deputy Coroner Dudley Miller was called around 1 p.m. Monday to the 2200 block of Parkwood Drive where he declared 39 year old Casey Lynn Payne, dead of a gunshot wound to the chest.  According to Anniston police Capt. Allen George the wound to Payne’s chest was from a shotgun. He said the Parkwood Drive address was not Payne’s residence. Police would not say if they had a suspect in custody as their investigation was ongoing.
