Anniston police have arrested and charged a woman in
connection with the Monday shooting death of a 38-year-old man. Anniston Police
Department spokesperson Capt. Allen George says the shooting happened in the
2200 block of Parkwood Drive. George
says 46 year old Pam DeAnn Smith has been
charged with murder in the shooting death of Casey Anthony Payne. Police
from the Anniston Police Department’s Uniform Division responded to reports of
a male shot Monday and found Payne dead from a shotgun wound to the chest. The Calhoun County District Attorney’s Office
and Anniston police reviewed forensic evidence and made the decision to charge
Smith with murder. Smith’s bond is set
at $50,000.
