The Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind partnered with
NASCAR to host the 29th annual “Race Fever” fundraiser at the International
Motorsports Hall of Fame Fox Sports 1 Dome Friday evening, raising more than
$100,000 for the AIDB Foundation. More than 40 drivers and racing/sports
personalities attended the fundraiser, including three-time Hall-of-Famer
Darrell Waltrip, Motor Racing Network’s Steve Post and race car drivers Justin
Allison and Kyle Larson. The event featured a motorized cooler race between NASCAR
Nationwide Series drivers Jeffrey Earnhardt and Dakota Armstrong, where
Earnhardt won in the final heat. The live auction’s top purchase, selling for
$15,000, was a five-day fully-guided hunting trip in Colorado.
