Two Etowah County Sheriff’s Office deputies were recognized
for their outstanding performance.
Enforcement Sgt. Paul Williams, Jr., has received the Law Enforcement
Officer of the Year award from local VFW Post 2760. Since 1997, Sgt. Williams has risen through
the ranks from detention deputy, deputy sheriff, investigator, sergeant and
captain. Detention Deputy Scott Dillard
received special achievement by Immigration and Customs Enforcement for his
dedication and contribution to the 287(g) program within the Etowah County
Detention Center. As a 287(g) officer,
Deputy Dillard coordinates and ensures the efficient and effective operation of
the program inside the detention center and leads the state in 287(g) delegation
of immigration cases. Both deputies were
presented with their awards at Tuesdays Etowah County Commission meeting.
