Cherokee county fugitives arrested in Colorado and New York

A Cedar Bluff man with a warrant from Cherokee County has been arrested in Colorado. According to Sheriff Jeff Shaver, 53-year-old Mitchell Wood, was arrested in Kit Carson County, Colorado, last week on a warrant from Cherokee County.  A Cherokee County Grand Jury indicted Wood earlier this year, for the Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree – which is a felony. The Kit Carson County Sheriff’s Office arrested Wood and he is being returned to the Cherokee County Detention Center.  Sheriff Shaver also reported that two individuals wanted in Cherokee County were arrested last week in upstate New York. They are both charged with Robbery 1st Degree in Cherokee County. The pair was taken into custody by the United States Marshal’s Service and they should also be in the Cherokee County Detention Center within the week.
