Lincoln hopes to negotiate with county commission on PJ issue

The Lincoln City Council during its work session Tuesday discussed hopes that Talladega County officials would respond soon to a request for a sit-down meeting to talk about the ongoing police jurisdiction issues. At the Talladega County Commission meeting Monday, a 30-minute executive session yielded no discussion or action.Residents in Lincoln’s PJ have sought aid from the commission, as well as state representatives, for relief from what they consider “unfair taxation without representation,” and have expressed their displeasure at numerous Lincoln council meetings. Mayor Bud Kitchin said Lincoln’s attorney should hear from the county’s attorney soon.
