Fired officer testifies in appeal to get his job back

During a public hearing Tuesday a fired Anniston police officer denied saying that his department supported the beliefs of a Southern secessionist group.

The 9-hour appeal hearing, held by the Anniston Civil Service Board to consider whether to overturn the dismissal of former Lt. Josh Doggrell, was adjourned until Thursday so the city attorney would have time to cross-examine Doggrell
