A 57 year old
Talladega man has been charged with felony assault stemming from a stabbing in
July.
According to Talladega police , William Akery, was arrested and charged with assault in the
second degree and was given a $10,000 bond.
Akery is accused of stabbing 51 year old James Stewart, of Talladega, at Akery’s home on Stemley
Bridge Road on July 10.
Although Stewart did not die in the attack, he was injured
seriously enough that he had to be treated extensively. It took some time for
Stewart to be strong enough to make his complaint.
