A
Calhoun County grand jury has returned indictments against two people
on capital murder charges in the July beating death of a 5-year-old
Anniston boy . The boys mother, 28 year old India Latrice Kimble,
and her 26 year old boyfriend, Vonta Montrell McClellan, both of
Anniston, are each being held under a million dollar cash bond. The
two were charged July 30 with the capital murder of Gregory Caver.
Police say the boy was beaten with a belt severely enough to cause
his death because he wet his bed. Caver was reportedly having trouble
breathing on July 26 at a home on Wilmer Avenue. The boy was taken to
Stringfellow Memorial Hospital and later airlifted to Children’s
Hospital of Birmingham, where he died.
