Calhoun County's 911 Board of
Commissioners are hosting a public meeting today to discuss a system
upgrade. A 800 mega-hertz radio system will be installed in November.
It will link agencies in Calhoun and Talladega counties.
Finances
over the upgrade have been controversial. Many dispatchers are
unhappy because they say there are talks about a central dispatch to
send all the calls to different police departments within the county,
versus using the Calhoun County dispatchers.
todays meeting
will be at 10:00 a.m. at Oxford Civic Center.
