A 42 year old Gadsden man is facing burglary and other charges
after police found him hiding under a pew early Friday morning at
First Baptist Church of Gadsden. Bobby Shane McCain has been charged
with first-degree criminal mischief, third-degree burglary and public
intoxication after he allegedly broke into the church on South Fifth
Street just before 1 Friday morning. According to police reports, he
caused about $1,350 of damage to windows and the alarm system at the
church. He was taken to the Etowah County Detention Center, where he
is awaiting bond.
