New truck plaza to come to Talladega County with help of govt. grant

A project to build a service station and truck plaza off Interstate 20 in Talladega county is getting a $250,000 grant to help. The plaza, which will employ 65 people, will be built at the Alabama 77 interchange, in the vicinity of the Talladega Superspeedway and Honda Manufacturing. A community development block grant, through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, was announced by Gov. Robert Bentley's office. WilcoHess of North Carolina is overseeing the project. A Wendy's restaurant and Dunkin' Donuts will be part of the project.
