A man wanted by Gadsden police for a July 4 robbery has been
apprehended by the U.S. Marshals' Gulf Coast Regional Task Force. 30 year old Christopher Darnell Hope, 30, was
arrested and was charged with first-degree robbery and first-degree
assault On July 4, a 45-year-old man
told police he was beaten in the head with a spade by Hope at a residence on
North Fourth Street. He said he was hit four times and Hope took a large amount
of cash from him. The man said he had just gotten the money from selling his
car. Hope is being held in Etowah County
Detention Center on no bond.
